About

Arola Quartet

The Arola Quartet was founded in May 2024 in Bern, Switzerland, and has quickly gained recognition as a dynamic and expressive string quartet. The four musicians met as students at the Bern University of the Arts, where they discovered their shared passion for chamber music. Their performances are known for technical brilliance, tonal warmth, and deep musical expression.

Despite its recent formation, the quartet has already achieved major success, winning the Gold Medal at the American Classical Music Awards in New York and the Silver Medal at the Premio Annarosa Taddei in Rome. Their international concert appearances include venues such as TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, Künstlerhaus Boswil in Switzerland, and the Stauffer Academy in Cremona, Italy.

The quartet’s artistic growth is supported by masterclasses with renowned musicians like David Finckel (Emerson String Quartet), Wu Han (Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center), Marc Danel (Danel Quartet), Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartet), and the Jerusalem Quartet. They also receive mentorship from Patrick Jüdt and Corina Belcea (Belcea Quartet) at the Bern University of the Arts, as well as from the Quartetto di Cremona at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona.
